You always hear about commercial fishing boats getting strange things in their nets. It gets no stranger with what a fishing boat picked up in Alaska: a 44 in, 60 lb rock fish was brought up from 2,100 ft below the surface of the Bering Sea, along with 75 tons of future seafood.
I've read and seen video and photos of live Colacanths. The Rockfish was alive and is estimated to be between 90 and 115 years of age.
This fish is the oldest ever to be found in Alaska, but it's not the biggest. That one was 47 inches.
