Bionic Eye - HD Compatible

Breakthroughs are wonderful, and when a breakthrough has a breakthrough, that's even better. A few years back technology helped bring eye sight back to a blind man by sticking a chip in his brain.

The chip gave a blind man eye sight but just a little more than a Euglena. It looks like scrambled pay per view but you can make out close up shapes like pens, keys, cup etc. but you can see movement.

The breakthrough is that the vision went from 16 pixels to 60 pixels. If 16 pixels could allow the blind to distinguish between objects 60 pixels will be quite nice.

The implant recently got approval by the FDA and is hopefully and possibly going to be available for clinical use in the next two years and will cost about $30,000.

Thanks Ubergizmo!
